Good food. Had the Nachos, Cowboy Burger and Caesar Salad. The nachos (with beef) were worth the $14 ) price. The cowboy burger was very good but not worth $19. The caesar salad was lacking and not worth $9. Good Beer (on draught). Not so good service. Bar is small. Was very busy the day after Christmas. Service was good/okay. Setting was wonderful. Would recommend.

A big white buffalo head watches over patrons as they sip what the locals insist are the best margaritas in Texas. Haven't had a chance to try them yet, but their selection of Big Bend beers doesn't disappoint. What I can say they have "the best of" is their nachos. You know how you usually get like 50 nachos and just a little cheese / toppings? Well here, we had to finish our toppings with a fork they're so generous. Great atmosphere too and if you're even a little social, you're likely to meet some locals who can spin you a yarn or ten.
Obviously this is the only place in Marathon to get a quality drink in an upscale environment. The White Buffalo isn't just a pretty spot, the bartender is super friendly and he makes some excellent drinks at a fair price. The Cowgirl margarita was a little spicy, but a fun play on their very good margarita. Additionally, the food in the bar was excellent. As other reviewers have noted, the enormous nachos are a great deal and should suffice as dinner for 2 hungry souls.
